President John Dramani Mahama has urged the newly sworn-in Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, and the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, to work closely together to address Ghana's environmental and sanitation challenges.

According to the President, effective environmental protection begins at the community level and requires strong coordination between the two ministries.

He identified sanitation, land-use planning, waste management, climate resilience and the protection of natural resources as key areas requiring closer collaboration between the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology.

President Mahama said the two ministries have critical and complementary roles to play in ensuring sustainable development and improving environmental conditions across the country.

Having served with both ministers in Parliament for a considerable period, President Mahama expressed confidence in their ability to work together effectively to achieve the government's development agenda.

Newly sworn-in Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has meanwhile pledged to work closely with Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings to advance President Mahama's vision of resetting Ghana.
