The Tatale Sanguli District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Tagba, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the district, saying she will continue to complement government’s efforts to improve their livelihoods and welfare.
Hon. Merry Tagba She made the remarks when the Tatale Sanguli District Assembly disbursed GH¢276,463 to Persons With Disabilities under the District Assembly Common Fund.

The DCE also clarified that the funds being disbursed were from the 2025 allocation and not the 2026 allocation.
The District Director for Persons With Disabilities, Sumaila Akurugo, thanked the government and the DCE, popularly known as “Cago Tatale,” for the support.
He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the items provided to improve their livelihoods and assured them that his office would monitor the use of the items.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, one recipient commended the government for what he described as its commitment to supporting Persons With Disabilities.
He, however, appealed for alternative forms of support for beneficiaries who receive livestock such as rams, explaining that some beneficiaries face difficulties keeping the animals and are sometimes unable to prevent them from being stolen.
Part of the funds was used to procure deep freezers, rams, hair dryers, musical organs, dressmaking machines, wheelchairs and bicycles for beneficiaries with mobility challenges. Some beneficiaries also received cash support to enable them to establish or expand their businesses.
