Tamale Teaching Hospital welcomes Danish Student Nurses for Clinical Training

The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has welcomed student nurses from Denmark as part of its collaboration with training institutions to promote healthcare education, professional development, and international knowledge exchange.
Through its Nursing and Midwifery Directorate, the hospital organised an orientation programme for the visiting students ahead of their clinical placement. The programme introduced the students to the hospital’s operations, institutional culture, and expectations, while preparing them for their practical training.
Addressing the students, the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services, Mrs Rebecca Mathew, welcomed them to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and encouraged them to embrace teamwork and actively engage with healthcare professionals and patients.
She urged the students to take advantage of the diverse learning opportunities available at the hospital, noting that TTH serves as a major referral and teaching institution that provides practical training for healthcare professionals from Ghana and other countries.

Mrs Mathew also encouraged the visiting students to participate in knowledge sharing, learn from the experiences of healthcare professionals across various units, and exchange perspectives from their respective training backgrounds.
She further urged them to observe clinical practices, contribute ideas, and identify opportunities that could support improvements in healthcare delivery.
As part of their clinical placement, the Danish student nurses will rotate through different wards and units at the hospital, where they will gain practical exposure to a wide range of clinical conditions, nursing procedures, and healthcare delivery practices.
The collaboration forms part of the hospital’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with training institutions and promote cross-cultural learning and professional exchange in nursing and midwifery education.
