Tamale Islamic SHS Directs Fresh Students to Report with Wooden Chairs and Tables

The management of Tamale Islamic Senior High School in the Northern Region has directed all fresh students to provide their own wooden chairs and tables as they report to the school.
The directive comes as 527,932 students have been placed in senior high schools nationwide under the 2026 placement exercise. However, the specific number of students placed at Islamic Senior High School in Tamale has not been verified.
Our news team discovered the directive during a visit to the school, where a notice posted on the school’s notice board instructed fresh students to come along with wooden chairs and tables.

A teacher who spoke to the news team explained that the school has been facing infrastructure challenges, particularly a shortage of chairs and tables for students.
According to the teacher, the directive is intended to help address the furniture shortage, which has affected the school’s ability to provide adequate seating and desks for students.
