Tamale Central MP launches Lebgimsim Enterprise Fund to support 60 women

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Professor Alidu Seidu, in collaboration with Assistance Hub, has launched and disbursed the Lebgimsim Enterprise Fund (LIF) to support 60 women entrepreneurs in the constituency.
The initiative, launched on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Kulikuli School in Tamale, seeks to empower women, strengthen small businesses and promote sustainable livelihoods under the theme, “Empowering Enterprises, Building Prosperity.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Alidu Seidu described the launch as a significant milestone for the people of Tamale Central, the Northern Region, Dagbon and Ghana as a whole.
He noted that successive governments since independence had introduced various policies to address unemployment, particularly among the youth and women. Professor Seidu stressed that youth empowerment remains one of the strongest approaches to creating employment, adding that national development should not be measured solely by roads and physical infrastructure but also by the economic empowerment of citizens.
The first batch of beneficiaries comprises 60 women, divided into three groups, with each group receiving GH¢40,000 to establish or expand their businesses. The initiative is projected to attract approximately GH¢3 million in investment over the next four to five years, creating opportunities for more women and strengthening businesses within the constituency.
The Chief Executive Officer of Assistance Hub, Humu Adam, said the organisation had been operating for about five years, focusing on empowering young people and women to achieve economic independence.
For the beneficiaries, the support represents more than financial assistance, providing an opportunity to expand their businesses, support their families and improve their livelihoods. The Lebgimsim Enterprise Fund is being positioned as an investment in women's economic empowerment and a step towards building stronger and more prosperous communities in Tamale Central.
