President Mahama Opens Northshore Apparel Hub in Savelugu

President John Dramani Mahama has officially opened the Northshore Apparel Hub in Savelugu in the Northern Region, a modern garment manufacturing facility established as part of the government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative.
The facility is expected to boost local manufacturing, create employment opportunities and expand economic prospects for residents of the Northern Region, while contributing to the growth and competitiveness of Ghana’s textile and apparel industry.

The Northshore Apparel Hub is also designed to promote sustainable and zero-waste production practices, aligning with the government’s broader agenda of advancing industrialisation while protecting the environment.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; the German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Frederik Landshöft; Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, Goosie Tanoh; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export-Import Bank, Hon. Sylvester Adinam Mensah.

The establishment of the facility is expected to position Savelugu as an emerging industrial hub in the Northern Region and provide new opportunities for skills development, job creation and value addition within the local economy.
