NPP Women’s Organiser calls for Unity after party elections

Northern Regional Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Suraiya Manan, has called on party members to close their ranks, forgive one another and work together following the recently concluded constituency and regional elections.
Hajia Suraiya made the call when she joined a programme organized by the Tamale Central Constituency Women’s Wing of the NPP in Tamale.
She said the keenly contested internal elections had tested the unity of party members, but stressed that the outcome should not be allowed to create divisions within the party.
According to her, members must now put their differences aside and collectively mobilize support for the party ahead of the 2028 general elections, with particular emphasis on the presidential ambitions of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Hajia Suraiya also raised concerns about what she described as the difficulties confronting women across the country. She cited challenges relating to school placements, high school fees and what she said was a decline in opportunities available to women.
She therefore urged women across Ghana to remain engaged in national development and support efforts aimed at addressing challenges affecting them.
Hajia Suraiya called for greater unity among women within the NPP and urged them to work collectively towards strengthening the party and restoring what she described as the dignity and integrity of women.
Her comments come at a time when the NPP is reorganizing its structures following its recent internal constituency and regional elections, with the party preparing for its next phase of leadership and political activities.
