Bawumia engages Quarry operators on job creation, economic growth and environmental protection

NPP flagbearer for the 2028 general elections and former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has engaged the Commercial Quarry Operators Association as part of his ongoing stakeholder policy dialogue series.
The engagement focused on challenges and opportunities within Ghana’s quarry industry, with discussions centred on measures to strengthen the sector, create jobs and contribute to economic growth.

Dr Bawumia said the discussions also explored ways to ensure that the development of the quarry industry is balanced with the need to protect the environment.
He stressed the importance of listening to industry players and incorporating their experiences and ideas into policy development, arguing that practical policies must reflect the realities faced by businesses and workers in key sectors of the economy.

The Commercial Quarry Operators Association expressed satisfaction with the engagement, describing the interaction as an opportunity to share concerns, experiences and ideas directly with Dr Bawumia.
The meeting forms part of a series of stakeholder consultations being undertaken by Dr Bawumia as he engages various sectors on policy issues ahead of the 2028 elections. Similar engagements with professional and industry groups have recently focused on identifying sector-specific challenges and gathering input for policy development.
